Spring 2025 Season

Welcome to the registration for the Spring 2025 season of Oceanside National Little League!

Registration is open to boys and girls born between league age 4 and 14 as long as you live or go to school within the ONLL boundaries. No prior experience necessary!

Spring Season
Registration opens in November and closes in January or when capacity is reached. Waitlists will be available if capacity is reached.
Player Assessments will be held Saturday, January 11th at 2pm, Tuesday, January 14th at 6pm and Thursday, January 16th at 6pm and are required for upper division players.
Team practices start in February and practice schedules will be provided by the Coach after the Meet the Coach event.
Regular season games take place between March and June. Game schedule are not release until a week prior to the season beginning.


ONLL Divisions of Play

Lower Divisions - Do not have assessments, and players may request a buddy on the team, or request a manager/coach when registering.

Tee-Ball (league age 4-6)- No Assessment Needed
Tee-Ball is the entry-level division for children ages 3 to 6 who have never played baseball before. Players hit from a tee and the division focuses on teaching the basics of the game in a fun and encouraging environment. Everyone in the lineup bats regardless of outs.
 
Farm (league age 5-8, age 5 & 6 eligible if played one season of T-ball)- No Assessment Needed
Farm division is designed for players ages 6 to 8, transitioning from tee hitting to coach pitch. Basic baseball rules are introduced, but there is no scoring, walks, or steals. Various modifications are implemented to promote skill development.
 
AA (league age 7-9, age 7 eligible if played one season of Farm)- No Assessment Needed
AA is a vibrant division for players aged 7 to 9, featuring a mix of coach and player pitching. While basic rules are enforced, there is no scoring, walks, or steals, with additional modifications to encourage player development.


Upper Divisions- Cannot request buddies or managers and MUST attend assessments.

AAA (League age 9-11, age 7 & 8 eligible if placed based on assessments)- Assessment Required
AAA marks the first all player pitched competitive division and is typically for players aged 8 to 10. Teams are formed through a draft before the Spring season. Standard baseball rules apply, with exceptions such as no leadoffs and batting through the lineup regardless of defensive positions. Teams compete for a first and second half division champion, who can then advance to the tournament of champions. Players under the league age of 9 must attend assessments, if assessments are not attended player will be placed in AA or AAA depending on previous division of play.
 
Majors (League age 10-12)- Assessment Required
The Majors division is highly competitive for players aged 10 to 12. Unlike AAA, only players in defensive positions bat, and substitutions are allowed. Typically, Majors teams participate in inter-league play within District 70. Players under the league 10 & 11 must attend assessments, if assessments are not attended player will be placed in AAA or Majors depending on previous division of play. 
 
50/70 Intermediate (League age 12-13)- Assessment Required
 The Intermediate 50/70 Program is for players aged 12 to 13 and emphasizes advanced skills in pitching, batting, and base running. This division uses a 90-foot diamond with a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base distances. The focus remains on team-building, confidence, and competitive skill development. Players must attend assessments. 
 
Juniors (League age 13-14)- Assessment Required
Juniors is the top division at ONLL for players aged 13 to 14. In this division, the bases are set 90 feet apart, and nearly all standard baseball rules are enforced. Teams often engage in inter-league play within District 70. Players must attend assessments.


How to Register

STEP ONE - Use the League Finder tool to verify your address is within ONLL boundaries. League Finder
Leagues are formed by specific boundaries, and to play within ONLL, players must either reside in or go to school in our boundaries and provide applicable documentation.


STEP TWO - Determine your child's league age. League Age Calculator
Your player's age is defined by their 'league age' not their chronological age and division of play is determine the player's league age.

  • T-ball (league age 4 - 6) - No Assessment Needed. $295 registration fee
  • Farm (league age 5 -6; age 5 & 6 eligible if played 1 season of T-ball) - $325 registration fee
  • AA (league age 7 - 9; age 7 eligible if played 1 season of Farm) - $325 registration fee
  • AAA (league age 9 - 11; age 7 & 8 eligible if placed based on assessment*) - $350 registration fee
  • Majors (league age 10 - 12 and attend assessment**) - $350 registration fee
  • Intermediate (league age 12 - 13 and must attend assessment) - $350 registration fee
  • Juniors (league age 13 and up and must attend assessment***) - $350 registration fee


STEP THREE - Register your player using the online registration system.
The online system will let you add multiple players, pay all registration fees, express volunteer interest, and see team schedules once available.


STEP FOUR - Attend a Document Verification and Player Assessment Day
Lower division players (T-ball, Farm, AA) can pick one Document Verification Day to attend and have the required documents collected and/or verified. Lower division players do not need to attend Player Assessments.
Upper division players (AAA, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors) can pick one Document Verification and Player Assessment Day to attend and have the required documents collected and/or verified and attend Player Assessments.

At Document Verification players will be asked to provide the player's original or certified birth certificate AND address verification documents to confirm their eligibility to play with ONLL.

Document Verification and Player Assessments will be held:
Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2pm check in begins at 1pm
Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 6pm check in begins at 5:15pm
Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 6pm check in begins at 5:15pm

There are two ways to show proof of your child's ability to play for ONLL: School Enrollment Form or Residence Verification.

  1. School Enrollment Form (Preferred Method) The school the child attends must be within ONLL boundaries. This is the easiest as it just requires an original (wet) signature by a school official. Forms will be collected by league staff.
  2. Residence Verification (child resides within the boundaries) requires three specific forms of proof of residence, one from each group and must be dated between February 2024 and February 2025. Documents will be reviewed by league staff.

Once your registration is complete, you will receive e-mails confirming the registration, as well as instructions for Document Verification and Assessment Days.

* League age 8 may play AAA and must attend tryouts. If player does not tryout they will be placed on a team in AA.
* League age 9 may play AAA and must attend tryouts. If player does not tryout they will be placed in AA or AAA based on previous year division of play. If placed in AAA, player is not eligible for draft and All-Stars
** League age 10 and 11 may play in Majors and must tryout. If player does not tryout they will be placed in AAA or Majors division, based on previous year division of play. If placed in Majors, player is not eligible for draft and All-Stars.
** League age 12. If player does not tryout they will be placed on a waiting list and used to replace any players lost in Major division during the season.
*** League age 13 and 14 may play in Juniors and must tryout. If player does not tryout they will be placed on a waiting list and used to replace any players lost in the Junior division during the season.
